1949 Mac Brier Team

1949 Mac Brier Team, in March of 1949, A McIntyre rink represented Northern Ontario in the playdowns for the Canadian Curling Championships.

J.D. “Jimmie”  Sutherland and his Mac Curling Club foursome carried the banner of Northern Ontario to Hamilton and curled to a third place finish in the curling classic.

This rink was unique because of the fact that all learned to curl, practically to the day, at the Mac Curling Club.  They were original members of the ten year old club and employees of the Mac Mine.

Other members of the Sutherland  Rink were E.G. Elmer Dick, Ken “Sparky”  Vail,” and Hughie Calverly.
