Harry Coott

Harry Coott, was always an active administrator on the local sports scene. He served over 20 years on the Northern Ontario Hockey Association (NOHA) Board, including a term as President. In 1979 he received the Angus Campbell Award for contributions to minor hockey. He was made a Life Member of the NOHA in 1998.

Harry served on the executive of the Northern Softball Association (NSA) for over 20 years, including two terms as President. He also served as President of the Timmins Major Fastball League for over 20 years, working closely with Nick Nastasiuk.

Harry was also President or Secretary in the Porcupine Juvenile Hockey League for over 20 years. He served as President of the South Porcupine Gold Kings All-Ontario Juvenile Champs in 1973 and was involved with the South Porcupine Pokies Seniors Hockey Club as a Manager for many years.

Harry devoted countless hours over the decades to our sport scene, and he was a fixture at the rinks and the ball diamonds around the city.
